Cosmopolitan Breaks the News: Marissa Stapley's Lucky Is Getting a Sequel

Our client Marissa Stapley has had quite a run with Lucky, her New York Times bestseller about a grifter on the run with a lottery ticket she cannot afford to cash. The book was a Reese's Book Club pick, and it has since become an Apple TV limited series starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Drew Starkey, Annette Bening, and Timothy Olyphant, with Reese Witherspoon on board as an executive producer.

Now Cosmopolitan has the details on what comes next: a sequel titled No Such Thing As Lucky. Stapley has confirmed the new novel will bring back Agent Billie Rand and Dutch, two characters created for the Apple TV adaptation who never appeared in the original book, and that the antagonist Priscilla takes on a much larger role the second time around. You can read the full announcement on Cosmopolitan for more on where the story goes from here.

Stapley is a Toronto based journalist and novelist whose earlier books, including Mating for Life, Things to Do When It's Raining, and The Last Resort, built the readership that made Lucky's breakout moment possible in the first place. Watching one book grow into a bestseller, a book club pick, a television adaptation, and now a planned sequel is a rare kind of momentum, and it does not happen by accident.

Sustaining that kind of visibility across a book, a show, and a sequel takes coordinated, ongoing work, which is exactly what our marketing services are built to do.

If your book has a story still unfolding, let's talk about keeping it in the spotlight!
